METALLIC PUTTIES

STEEL PUTTY

Steel Putty is a steel reinforced, two part epoxy that cures to a
metal-like finish and can be machined, drilled, tapped or filed.

ADVANTAGES:

Does not sag or shrink - can be applied to over head and vertical
surfaces and confirms to odd shapes.
Rebuilds worn parts fast, reduces downtime.
High steel content - cures to metal-like finish
Superior adhesion - forms a solid bond to steel, concrete and clean
and abraded Bronze, Copper and Aluminium.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS :
Sealing cracked castings, tanks, vessels and valves.
Patching non structural defects in steel parts.
Making models and jigs for holding odd shaped parts.
Making metal dies.
Resurfacing worn out portions.
Filling cavity areas.

STEEL PUTTY

Directions for use :
o Clean and roughen the application surface. Grit blast or grind for best adhesion. (Note : A mould    release should be used onsurfaces where adhesion is not desired.)
o Mix thoroughly until a uniform colour is obtained. Be sure to mix along the sides and bottom.
o Apply fully mixed material to prepared surface.

TECHNICAL TIPS FOR WORKING WITH EPOXIES

Working time and cure time depends on temperature and mass:
o Higher the temperature, Faster the cure.
o Larger the mass of material mixed, Faster the cure.
To speed up the cure of epoxies at low temperatures:
o Store epoxy at room temperature.
o Pre-heat surface under repairs, until warm to the touch.
To slow down the cure of epoxies at high temperatures:
o Mix epoxy in small masses to prevent rapid curing.

Shelf life : One year if stored under recommended conditions of storage.

Warning :May cause burns to eyes and skin.May be harmful if swallowed.
Do not take internally. In case of eye contacts, wash thoroughly with water
                  and consult doctor.
