PLIOGRIP P-122 BROMINATED VINYL ESTER RESIN

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

PLIOGRIP P-122 is specially formulated from Pliogrip Brominated vinyl ester resin P-121 with the addition antimony compound in order to attain optimum ignition resistance. It is also specially designed to give optimum thixotropic and is having a very high degree of fire retardancy coupled with the chemical resistance and mechanic properties of vinyl ester resin

• AREAS OF APPLICATION

PLIOG RIP P-122 Brominated vinyl ester resin shows chemical resistance properties similar to Pliogrip P-12 but having much higher degree of fire retardancy derived from synergetic effect of antimony com p a u n ( with the bromine from resin backbone. Pliogrip P-122 has similar applications as those of Pliogrip P -12 but where transparency of the Moulding is not required. Pliogrip P-122 Brominated vinyl ester resin can I successfully used in FRP duct work, stack and stack liner applications, equipment specified to handle mixture of air and hot gases or potentially flammable liquids, buildings panels and flooring compound where very high degree of fire resistance is needed. Pliogrip P-122 can also be used in military marine market for the production of high quality light weight navy craft.

(The specimens for testing are cured for 24 hours at Room temperature followed by Post Curing for 4 hours at 80°C)

 POST CURING REQUIREMENTS:

Satisfactory laminates for many applications can be made by curing the laminate at ambient temperatures. However for achieving optimum properties the laminate should be post cured for a period of 4 hours at 80°C. The post curing is most effective when carried out immediately after the 24 hours ambient temperature cure.

 Storage & Handling :

Should be stored in closed containers in cool conditions away from direct Sunlight. Resins exposed to direct Sunlight may lead to premature gelation even in the absence of a Catalyst.   Shelf life of Resin @ 25°C. about 6 months from the date of manufacturing.

Most of our resin contain styrene monomer and are classified as highly flammable liquids. Working areas should be well ventilated since styrene has a threshold value of 1000ppm in normal working atmosphere  .It is also an eye skin irritant. Hence, Goggles and gloves are recommended while handling our Resins

 Caution:

Pliogrip Q 8013 MEKP should never be mixed with Pliogrip S 1021 Cobalt, as this would cause explosion. The Pliogrip S 1021 Cobalt should be blended into the resin first. The Pliogrip Q 8013 MEKP should be added just before use.
