PLIOGRIP P333 GENERAL PURPOSE POLYESTER RESIN

 General Description

PLIOGRIP P 333 is a medium viscosity general-purpose resin of good colour and clarity. PLIOGRIP P 333 is based on Phthalic Anhydride and has overall balanced properties. The resin exhibits good moisture resistance and thermal endurance and is conveniently formulated to desired end products under normal indoor/outdoor conditions. Pliogrip P333 readily impregnates fibrous reinforcing materials such as glass; cloth or mat to produce laminates having good mechanical strength, toughness and rigidity.

PLIOGRIP P333 is suitable for the manufacture of general purpose Mouldings such as machine guards, machine covers, furniture item, water, tanks, bath-tubs, construction panels, boats, marine equipments, Marbles etc. The resin is also used for potting and encapsulation in decorative applications.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES OF CURED UNREINFORCED RESIN

Tensile Strength (Kg/Cm²) :

                                               550-700

Flexural strength (Kg/Cm²) :

                                               900 - 1000

Heat Distortion Temperature (°C) :

                                             75 + 5

Barcol Hardness :

                                                40

(The specimens for testing are cured for 24 hours at Room temperature followed by Post Curing for 4 hours at 80°C)

POST CURING REQUIREMENTS :

Satisfactory laminates for many applications can be made by curing the laminate at ambient temperatures. However for achieving optimum properties the laminate should be post cured for a period of 4 hours at 80°C. The post curing is most effective when carried out immediately after the 24 hours ambient temperature cure.

 Storage :

Should be stored in closed containers in cool conditions away from direct Sunlight. Resins exposed to direct Sunlight may lead to premature gelation even in the absence of a Catalyst. Shelf life of Resin @ 25°C. about 6 months from the date of manufacturing.
 Caution:

Pliogrip Q 8013 should never be mixed with Pliogrip S 1021, as this would cause explosion. The Pliogrip S 1021 should be blended into the resin first. The Pliogrip Q 8013 should be added just before use.
